BUTA AKFA represented Azerbaijan in football and table tennis competitions within the Seoul International Sports Festival.
The Seoul International Sports Festival, held among foreign citizens living in South Korea, started on October 5, 2019. At the festival, which will last from October 4 to 10, foreigners living in Korea will compete in 7 sports. BUTA AKFA, the first and only diaspora organization created by Azerbaijanis living in South Korea, represented Azerbaijan in two sports. On October 5, football competitions of our youth with the participation of 16 teams representing different countries started. With the support of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the football team of the BUTA Azerbaijan-Korea Friendship Association represented our country in this competition. In the first match, our team faced Dasom with a convincing victory of 9-1 and qualified for the final stage.
Our country was represented by Khalid Huseynov in table tennis competitions. Our compatriot, who defeated the Indonesian athlete in the first match, advanced to the next stage.
